Spektrum have announced a special edition green version of their popular DX5 Rugged radio. Gone are the days of worrying about your transmitter becoming damaged due to being dropped while bashing or being thrashed by an enthusiastic child whom you let have a turn at the reigns. The DX5 Rugged shares its ergonomics with the DX5 Pro and DX5C giving it a solid feel in the hand and the chassis is even water resistant for those wet and wild bash sessions or the occasional pop-up shower that inevitably happens when you’re on the trail. The case is surrounded by a rubber bumper for a first line of defense against impacts while dual lanyard mounts aim to reduce drops before they can occur. The integrated front chassis guard also allows mounting of accessories (accessories not included). For the “go-slow-and-film-while-driving” crowd the DX5 Rugged offers thumb steer for single handed operation convenience. Looking toward the future, the Rugged is Spektrum Smart Technology ready and offers telemetry support (telemetry sensors and receiver sold separately). Finally the Rugged offers on-board tool storage to help you in the field, on the trail, or in the pits.
