New Product Release: Element RC Enduro Trailrunner RTR

Element RC have added to their Enduro line of scale trail trucks once again with the release of the Enduro Trailrunner. Much like its other siblings the Trailrunner features a steel ladder frame, Stealth-X overdrive transmission, chassis mounted servo and 4-link rear suspension. The truck also includes a compliment of Reedy electronics including the 16t 5-slot motor, water-resistant 400x speed control and a high-torque metal gear servo. The 2.4gHz receiver is housed in a sealed receiver box and there are two batter box options to secure the battery of which is included in the 40104C LiPO combo version of the truck.

What separates the Trailrunner from the rest of the Enduro lineup is the inclusion of Element’s IFS (independent front suspension) kit, licensed 1.55″ General Grabber’s on 3-piece beadlock wheels and the beautifully sculpted Toyota-esque SUV body with its numerous optional add-on detail pieces.

The IFS kit was designed to fit in the same dimensions as the stock front axle and includes universal driveshafts to retain the impressive steering angle that the Enduro is known for. Adjustable aluminum dampers smooth the ride front and rear while new optimized ball cups increase rear axle articulation to compensate for the reduced travel of the IFS. Mounting the front shocks behind the suspension arm aids in hiding their appearance when viewed from head-on, adding scale appearance without sacrificing performance. Including the IFS kit is a nice touch for this RTR as its 1:1 inspiration has independent suspension up front as well (it uses a 5-link rear suspension design though).

Sitting atop the familiar chassis and new front suspension is a stunning polycarbonate likeness of the full-scale 5th generation 4Runner. While not officially licensed, the body lines are unmistakable and the shell is well-proportioned. The body is a two-piece design allowing for the removal of the front lower valance for use with the included, optional multi-piece front bumper. The body arrives with some detail pieces pre-installed, including the injection-molded fender flares, B-pillar appliques, door handles, windshield wipers, mirrors, and front grill. Optional detail pieces are also supplied in the box and include a snorkel, the aforementioned 3-piece front bumper with D-rings, a separate winch fairlead, a molded roof rack, a separate exhaust, and clear windows with tinted decals. An interior is not included.
