For those with a 22 3.0-5.0 generation buggy looking to try Street Eliminator drag racing, Exotek has a conversion kit that will turn that donor buggy into a straight line missile.
Beginning with a 2.5mm thick carbon fiber chassis and side rails the kit stretches the wheelbase of the car to 13″ to fit within class rules and to accommodate most popular drag racing bodies currently available. The side rail plates tie into the machined alloy servo mounting block to reduce chassis twist and increase overall rigidity. Included in the kit are an alloy front kick-up plate and six side rail posts, finished in gloss black to match the stock 5.0 pieces. The two lever design of the chassis allows adjustment to the center of gravity for stability while the rear section keeps the transmission elevated slightly to reduce driveline angles and rotational harmonics at high speed.
The kit also includes a four position shorty LiPO mount that can be moved to tailor the balance to suit track conditions and available traction. The rear section of the conversion chassis raises the rear roll-center for increased forward traction while reducing lateral roll for greater stability. Also included in the conversion are a carbon fiber front shock tower for a lower ride height that can accept an optional Street Eliminator front body mount kit and a carbon fiber rear body mount plate that bolts to the rear wing mounts and allows the use of Traxxas body mount posts (#TRA1914R). Rounding out the package are a standup 3-gear slotted motor plate, steel hardware and a large Exotek decal sheet.
