Dirt oval racing is making a resurgence across the nation and Losi is jumping on the go-fast-turn-left bandwagon with their new 1/10 Sprint, a dedicated dirt oval race car based on their 2wd basher platform.
Straying from the norm for an RTR this car has an aluminum chassis plate as its foundation; a 2.5mm thick slab of 6061-T6 aluminum spans the front and rear clips and provides a sturdy backbone for consistent handling. Rubber battery retention straps with steel engagement pins hold a 2s pack in place securely while allowing simple pack changes. A 3300kv FIRMA brushless motor finds its home midship for more balanced handling while also having the added benefit of giving the rear of the car a more scale appearance where its tail tank does not have to cover a motor and transmission. A host of metal gears transfers power from the motor to the rear tires and spin freely on sealed ball bearings. A sealed, bevel gear differential applies power smoothly in the corners and is factory filled with diff fluid instead of grease.
Accessing the chassis for tuning or battery changes is a simple affair thanks to the clipless body mount system and integrated roll cage/wing/body assembly. Both front and top wings can easily be removed for open wheel midget racing or just to change up the look for a night. The multi-piece body is available in three pre-finished schemes: blue, lime green or red. Both blue and green liveries are sold RTR without batteries while the red version includes a 4000mAh 2s SMART LiPO battery and USB Type C charger. Officially licensed Hoosier Chainlink front and Angle Block rear tires are mounted to proprietary 1.7″/2.2″ chrome wheels with color matched right side mug plugs.
Powering the open wheel monster is a host of Spektrum electronics including the aforementioned 3300kV FIRMA motor, a 45a SMART Lite ESC, an SLT2 2-channel transmitter and SR215 DSMR receiver while an S684 high-speed metal gear servo keeps things pointed in the right direction.
