THE MASHER IS BACK! Pro-Line has announced new additions to their 2.8″ tire line-up that include the Badlands, Sand Paw, Prime and the legendary Masher, all pre-mounted to Pro-line’s Raid 6×30 removable hex 2.8″ wheels.
First up are the Badlands 2.8’s. Based off the original design (and not the MX28 which is also available as #10125-10) these tires are designed to tear into most any terrain and give maximum off-road traction no matter the surface. The motocross inspired tires stand 4,95″ tall and are 2.10″ wide.
Up next are the sand and snow throwing Sand Paw 2.8’s. Featuring the now famous split paddle design, the Sand Paw is was built to provide maximum forward bite while still offering some turning ability thanks to the shape of the paddle. The tires measure 5.22″ in height and 2.70″ in width,
For those who do their bashing on-road Pro-Line offers the Prime 2.8. The tires have a shallow center tread mimicking a 1:1 cheater slick and have a smooth sidewall to help combat traction rolling in corners. The sticky gumballs are a bit shorter than other 2.8″ tires at 4.40″ tall but are extra wide at 2.6″.
Last but certainly not least are the venerable Masher 2.8’s. The tread pattern traces it roots to the circa-Y2K refresh of the original Masher 2.2″ MT tire (the redesign appropriately called the Masher 2k). The chevron style tread has numerous circumferential sipes in each tread block, adding a massive amount of grip in all directions without causing instability. For a mix of on-road and off-road bashing there are few tires as capable as the Masher. The tires are on the larger side of the spectrum at 4.90″ tall and 2.78″ wide.
All of these tires come mounted to Pro-Line’s new Raid 6×30 removable hex wheels and include both wide and narrow offset 12mm adapters in the package. The new design allows quick changes in track width, easy replacement of a stripped hex without having to completely scrap the wheel, and offers an easy upgrade to 17mm hexes (with optional part #6336-00, sold separately). On top of all of the performance advantages the Raid wheels look the part as well with their rugged beadlock styling and split spoke design.
