Team Associated has announced the release of the updated APEX2 1/10 touring car chassis and its Hoonigan Hoonitruck body. The shaft driven chassis features updated rear suspension with with active rear toe that allows the truck to hug curves like a full race chassis while a G10 chassis and shock towers keep the cost down. The oil-filled dampers have threaded bodies and bleeder screws in the caps and the camber and steering links are fixed chunks of molded plastic for added durability. Team Associated have also mentioned that the pivot balls are POM-filled injection molded pieces, a rather unique way to manufacture a pivot ball. The officially licensed Hoonitruck features a molded grille, turbos, mirrors and a spoiler out back, along with molded brake discs and calipers. A brushed ESC and 15T sealed can 3-pole motor provide the go, while a steel servo horn keeps things pointing straight consistently. The battery box is set up for shorty sized packs and said battery is held in place with hook-and-loop straps. A LiPO compo is also available for those who want a complete package with charger straight out of the box.
