Traxxas is bringing the six wheel fun with their new TRX-6 Flatbed Ultimate Hauler. Based on the previously released AMG TRX-6 the UH incorporates a slew of new detail features into the already top-of-the-line triple axle truck.
Longer chassis rails form the foundation of the UH and give it its massive size, making room for the 21″ long flat bed portion of the body. The required longer center driveshaft is a multi-piece unit that is supported by a carrier bearing for smooth, bind-free running and is splined for added strength. Locking diffs are stuffed inside of all three axles and are operated by micro servos, as is the metal gear 2-speed transmission.
LED lights are found spread around the truck, 25 in total, and are contained within a separate power plug for easy body removal. Four body clips allow access under the front portion of the cab while two additional clips free the battery, The battery can be either a 2s or 3s unit as the XL-5 HV is 3s capable. All of that voltage is sent to a Titan 550 21T motor for added torque in high or low gear, while a metal gear chassis mounted 2075X servo keeps things pointed in the right direction.
Details are aplenty with the UH and include black chrome bumpers, grille, and fuel tanks, detailed tool boxes on the each side of the cab, winch mounts in the bed for simple accessory winch mounting (winch sold separately), a wide headache rack, wheel chocks in the bed to secure different wheelbase vehicles, o-ring “tie-downs” and mounts for securing wheels and elevated bed rails that can also act as tie-down points for vehicles other than the 4-Tec 2.0 or 3.0.
Rolling stock includes black chrome plated 2.2″ semi-style wheels wrapped in 4.6″ tall all-terrain tires. The separate cab is bathed in an inky black, contrasting the matte black of the molded plastic bed. A previously available Snap On exclusive version was produced but not make available to the general public and featured the signature Snap On red; a sign that more colors may be available at a future date.
