Welcome back intrepid readers to our second edition of TWIRC! This week we have new releases from Pro-Line Racing, MEUS Racing and Losi. While a slow week for news, we also have a new project log covering our Powerhobby LCG Class 2 Fun Truck that is currently sitting in pieces next to me waiting for final assembly. Let’s dive into all the news that fit to print… be careful with that reference, it’s an antique!
PRO-LINE RACING
Pro-Line announced the release of three new limited edition pre-cut, pre-finished bodies for the Arrma Typhon GROM, a new wing set for the Arrma Granite GROM and a black Sector wing for the aforementioned Typhon GROM.
First up are a trio of limited edition pre-finished bodies for the Typhon GROM, officially know as the Splat, the Tribe and the Jagged. Each body is pre-cut, making the beautification process as simple as possible. The Splat is finished in green and white with a bit of black and lives up to its name well.

The Tribe harkens back to popular race body schemes of the 90’s with its black and yellow color motif (inserts Pittsburgh Steelers or Wiz Khalifa pun here). For fans of the golden age of RC racing this body will be directly up your alley,

Last but not least, the Jagged. This paint scheme is appropriately named with white and blue sections coming together in a lightning bolt adjacent style. This modern take on a traditional painting style is executed well and suits the lines of the body to a tee.

Up next comes the wing set for the Arrma Granite GROM mini-monster that includes not only a Sector wing and mount but also roof skids for the little basher. This is a direct bolt-on and includes multicolor endplates for a splash of style as well as performance.

Last but not least from Pro-Line is the race-inspired Sector wing for the Arrma Typhon GROM. This direct bolt-on wing is the latest in aerodynamic technology and will add traction and stability to the palm-sized Typhon.

MEUS RACING
MEUS Racing is not a brand that some in the USA will be familiar with outside of the crawler community but they offer a line of high-quality parts and accessories for a range of vehicles at a surprisingly affordable price. We are using their nylon portal axles in our Class 2 rig (see it here: https://1i-rc.com/powerhobby-class-2-lcg-fun-rig-can-you-compete-on-a-budget/) and have found them to be a great budget option. This week’s new product releases includes a new set of high clearance aluminum axles for the Traxxas TRX4M, isokinetic equipped axles for the TRX4M and the Axial’s SCX24 Deagbolt and C10 as well as Isokinetic shafts for the Vanquish H10 Optic, metal straight axles for the H10 Optic and finally a set of metal high clearance links for the TRX4M Defender and Bronco. Each photo below corresponds to the above list of items.

Rounding out this weeks news are a host of new livery options from Losi on their NASCAR replicas. This release includes Ross Chastain’s #1 Busch Lite Chevrolet, Kyle Larson’s #5 Valvoline Chevrolet, Chase Elliot’s #9 NAPA Chevrolet, Christopher Bell’s #20 DeWalt Toyota and William Byron’s #24 Raptor Chevrolet. These body options join the previously releases 2025 options that include Joey Logano’s #22 Shell Pennzoil Ford and Ryan Blaney’s #12 Advance Auto Parts Ford.

For our in-house projects this week we focused our attention on a new LCG Class 2 Fun Rig that aims to answer the question: Can you compete on a budget? This project started out with a $70 Amazon sourced Powerhobby carbon fiber lcg chassis kit, a $80 set of MEUS Racing nylon portal axles and a $8 Temu special 3-gear aluminum transmission. Each part of this truck was built with budget performance in mind and at the end of this weeks update we have a rolling chassis to show for our efforts. In next weeks update we will have the power system installed, the truck wired, wheels and tires sourced as well as a body.
