As most of the country struggles through another week of sweltering weather we as Americans prepare to celebrate our independence on July 4th. Thankfully the celebration of the holiday, with its fireworks and barbeques, has distracted us from the lack of RC news as there’s only been one release this week. Traxxas announced the release of the Raptor R Ultimate 4s basher based on the Slash 4×4. As far as projects go, we are at a standstill until more parts arrive for both the Sand Rail and Class 2 Fun Rig. If brown Santa visits us this week we should have updates on both projects soon.
NEW PRODUCT RELEASE: TRAXXAS FORD RAPTOR R 4×4 ULTIMATE

Traxxas’ Raptor model of the Slash 4×4 platform gets a refresh this week with the release of the new Raptor R 4×4 Ultimate. This VXL-4s powered basher gets the HD suspension arm upgrade that most Traxxas Models have seen recently while also receiving a host of aluminum suspension components, threaded body alloy GTR shocks, an adjustable center differential filled with 20 million weight fluid, 6mm MAXX duty axles, licensed Ford Raptor R 2.0″/3.0″ wheels (that’s right, the outer bead is not a standard SC 2.2 size), licensed BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A K02 tires in an oversized 114mm outer diameter size, clipless body mounts and a plethora of molded body accessories that bring the Raptor R to life. These were made available in hobby stores beginning July 4th and will be available online later this month.
