Welcome back everyone! From all of us here at 1i-rc.com we’d like to take a moment to remember all of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect and preserve our freedom as American citizens; without the brave sacrifice of these men and women our country would not be free, and for that we owe you a massive debt of gratitude. Thank you.
This week brought us a few new releases from JConcepts, including new race bodies for the Associated 2sd and 4wd buggies, as well as new aluminum steering bellcranks for the RC10 1989 Stealth car. From Arrma we saw a new Mojave GROM RTA kit, a ready to assemble version of this ultra-popular mini desert truck. Finally from Team Associated we have new HD versions of their CVA bones in several lengths, making you TA race vehicle just a little more durable. Let’s dive in and see what’s mew!
JCONCEPTS
Jason and the team at JConcepts are know for pushing the performance envelope and this week announced the new Striker body, the latest tech in aerodynamics that aims to do just that. Available for the RC10B7.1 and RC10B84 in both standard and lightweight versions this body features a new wrap-around cab design with what JC calls “sunglass-style” windows (accurate, if you ask me) as well as a substantial stabilizing fin that butts directly up to the included universal rear wing. The heavily radiused side pods aid in smoothly transitioning air along the side of the car while the rear rear section includes a spur gear bump to get the body as low as possible. Like all JConcepts bodies these Striker shells include window masks, overspray film and detail decals.

Also new from JConcepts are these machined bellcranks for the Team Associated RC10 1989 Stealth Car. Available in either black or blue anodizing these CNC machined beauties not only look stunning but also add rigidity and precision to the steering system of the Stealth Car. Not only are the bellcrank arms themselves CNC machined but the standoffs and retaining washers received the same whittling treatment. Titanium 8/32″x1/4″ FHCS screws as well as 5.5x4mm ball studs are included in the package, adding a touch of strength while also shedding a gram or two in the process.

ARRMA
Arrma is going after the beginner market with this one! A kit that is aimed directly at those who have never built a kit is a great idea (they did the same with the Gorgon 1/10 MT prior) and even include the tools needed for assembly. Quality electronics are included and feature a metal gear Spektrum steering servo, an SLT 2-n-1 25a ESC/RX combo, a brushed 380 motor as well as a SMART equipped 1400mAh 2s LiPO, right in the box. Small sub-assemblies are already together making this a simple “cut-open-the-bag-and-slam-it-together” build session. A SMART 2s charger and four “AA” batteries are included in the box for a truly complete package. For traction the Mojave relies on dBoots Fortress tires, a great tread pattern that has shown its worthiness on other models in the past. The body comes out of the box partially painted, turning a typically daunting portion of the build into one that only takes 10 minutes or so. If you are looking for a great project to get your kids or a spouse into RC this is a great option@elmoracer

SITE UPDATE
This week we got our review of the RadioLInk RC8X transmitter published, and I must say, I love this transmitter! One thing I didn’t get to touch on was the ergonomics; this radio fits my large hand well and all of the controls fall naturally where you would think they’d be; no guessing where a switch is or where an adjustment should be. Overall I highly recommend this radio if you are looking to take your RC program to the next level! Link: https://1i-rc.com/review-radiolink-rc8x-8-channel-radio-system/
Finally, this week we here at 1i-rc would like to take a moment to remember the late Kyle Busch, a man who not only meant a tremendous amount to the racing community but also to the RC community. THose who have been around for a while will remember the Kyle Busch version of the Traxxas Mini-ERevo platform for 2008 and the partnership that ended abruptly at Texas when Kyle spun Ron Hornaday, wrecking them both. Losi has their Lucas Oil 1/12 version and many vendors have the Cheddars #8 and M&M’s #18 decal sets available to create your own tribute. I was a fan of Kyle’s. I may not have agreed with every thing he ever said or did, but I have immense respect for his talent and admired his devotion to being a father first and a racer second. The work that he and wife Samantha did working with charities making IVF more accessible to families was a true blessing for so many and getting to see Kyle racing with his son on several occasions was a true heartwarming sight. Words cannot say how much Kyle meant to the NASCAR community but I will say this: there will never be another like him. Rest in peach, Kyle. You will be missed but never forgotten.
Normally I would end out time together with the line “be good to yourself, be good to each other, be good to your RC” but I feel like this week it is more appropriate to sign off with “Do it for Dale, be like the Biff and Forever be Rowdy.”
