In response to owners of the biggest Arrma’s RPM have released new front suspension arms for the Kraton 8s, also fitting the new Outcast 8s. These arms replace the upper and lower suspension arms on the right front (81562) and left front (81522). Each pair of arms save 4.5 grams over stock while being stronger and more able to absorb impacts.
The lower arms consist of a triple beam design with each beam measure 5/8″ (15.8mm) tall by 3/8″ (9.5mm) wide. The size and shape of the beams reduce unwanted flex during normal driving while absorbing impacts during crashes. RPM also moved the inner cross brace away from the chassis plate, eliminating the droop screw stop, but reducing stress on the chassis plate in this area. The force of the 26lb. vehicle crashing back to terra firma highlighted a weak point in the chassis and the new arms prevent this from occurring.
To compliment the lower arms, RPM redesigned the upper arms with a twin beam design where each beam measures 1/2″ (12.7mm) tall by 3/8″ (9.5mm) wide. According to RPM “We eliminated the tube shape over the hinge pin to eliminate built-in molding stresses while beefing up the leading edge hinge pin support to add some much needed strength and durability.”
Like all RPM products, the Kraton/Outcast 8s front suspension arms are designed and manufactured in the USA and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
