The engineers at Axial have placed an SCX10iii in a copier and hit enlarge, many times! The new SCX6 brings the fun of large scale RC to a (hopefully large) trail near you.
Everything you’d expect from a 1/10 trail truck is present in the SCX6, just bigger, including the steel c-channel chassis, newly-designed metal gear 2-speed transmission, 3-link front and 4-link rear suspension configuration and a detailed engine cover.
New AR90 axles are found both front and rear and are stuffed with heavy duty spools for increased durability. Gone are the 10iii’s portals and instead the AR90’s use a standard configuration for a lower center of gravity and reduced parts count. Hanging the axles from the chassis are a full compliment of 10mm diameter stainless steel links (with 13mm rod ends and stainless pivot balls) while 20mm threaded body aluminum dampers keep things under control. Steering power is transmitted to the wheels via similarly sized stainless links.
Providing the yank for said steering is a Spektrum S905 large scale steering servo with 555.50 oz/in of torque (@7v) while an adapter is included for use with larger servos. A Spektrum S614 15kg servo handles the shifting duties. Spektrum’s DX3 DSMR 2.4gHz transmitter sends the signals to a 5-channel receiver and is SMART compatible. For power, Axial chose the Spektrum Firma 120a SMART brushless speed control and a 1200kv sensored motor puts things into motion with authority. Twin battery trays along the left and right side of the chassis afford users the option of running a single pack or two packs in parallel (using parallel harness #SPMXCA509) for increased run time and improved side-to-side balance.
Aesthetically the Jeep JLU Rubicon body nails the look of the full scale Wrangler. Molded detail pieces are found both inside and out to satisfy even the most detail oriented Jeep enthusiast. LED headlights and taillights light the way after the sun sets, making the green paint easier to follow down the trails. Rounding out the looks department (pun intended) are up-sized 7″ BFGoodrich KM3 tires mounted to Method Primm 3-piece beadlock wheels.
