Much akin to the 22s No Prep Drag Car and its pint size little brother the 1/16 Mini No Prep Drag car, Losi is downsizing its ultra-popular LMT 1/8 solid axle monster truck into a 1/18 package that can be ran everywhere and is much easier on the wallet without sacrificing the scale cool that made the LMT such a hit.
Beginning with a powdercoated aluminum twin plate chassis, the mini LMT is designed tough with an all-metal drivetrain, aluminum suspension links, front universal axles and a hinged roll cage. Twist lock body mounts keep the body securely in place while not ruining the scale appearance with body clips. Speaking of the body, Losi is offering the MIni LMT in two different paint schemes, the original Grave Digger and the newer Son Uva Digger, both officially licensed and detailed to the hilt. Tinted headlight lenses are included with both trucks and are lit by LED’s that keep the Monster Jam fun going even when the sun goes down. Licensed BKT tires are mounted on scale appearing plastic wheels and utilize a 12mm hex for strength while also opening the door for future wheel choices.
For electronics Losi has chosen a suite of familiar product to provide the Mini LMT with power and control. Sending the signals is the ubiquitous Spektrum SLT2 2-channel 2.4gHz radio that, while inexpensive, works well and is comfortable for drivers of all ages. A 25a ESC/RX combo handles the power delivery and signal handling duties and can be powered by the included Spektrum SMART 850mAh LIPo battery or a 6-cell NIMH (especially useful if the truck is going to be operated by youngsters who may not stop driving when the battery goes flat). For power, the MLMT features an oversized 25t 380 size motor that hustles the chassis around with authority while a Spektrum SX108 digital metal gear micro servo throws the front tires around with authority, despite being fitted with a servo saver previously found on the 1/16 No Prep car.
