The popular Gen8 Scout II receives the V2 treatment with a host of upgrades as well as new body color options.
The iconic International is now available in purple and green flavors and now features clear windows to show off any interior detail the end user may add. Adding to the scale looks are separately molded mirrors, fender flares, a grille, LED ready headlight and taillight housings and 1.9″ Super Swamper tires mounted on true beadlock wheels.
Underneath the landmass of Lexan is the familiar c-channel steel frame that has underpinned the Gen8 since the beginning. At the center of that chassis is a new flat-belly skidplate for fewer hangups on the trail. Mounted to the skid is a divorced transfer case filled with Mod1 gears. Upstream from the transfer case is a metal gear transmission, again with Mod1 internal gearing, a 32p spur gear, lockable dual pad slipper, a metal motor plate, and telescoping center driveshafts. New heavy duty axle housings as well as portal gears with more reduction for reduced torque twist. The axle housings also feature captured shock mounts for increased durability and have machined lockers to reduce slop. The entire drivetrain spins on a total of 32 rubber sealed ball bearings.
New to the electronics equation is a 25kg metal gear servo with a revised servo horn for proper steering alignment. A 17t 550 motor spins the drivetrain while a Hexfly crawler ESC regulates the power from the battery and takes its orders from a 2.4gHz radio system.
