This Kaiju is real, and it has grown! Redcat announced the upcoming release of the new Kaiju EXT 1:8 monster truck that is not only larger but also includes a host of new features not found on the original Kaiju MT. A new longer chassis plate gives the EXT its growth spurt increasing wheelbase by 51mm for added stability and an easier driving experience. Despite the lengthened wheelbase the Kaiju is still capable of standing backflips and other 6s fueled shenanigans according to Redcat. Transferring all of the power to the ground are new licensed IROK Sniper M/T belted tires that retain their shape even at high speeds while also providing the multi-terrain traction drivers demand. The internal belts also prevent the dreaded “pizza-cutter” front tire effect when doing a wheelie with a vehicle equipped with a center differential. A Hobbywing 150a speed control and 4068 2100kv 4-pole brushless motor produce impressive horsepower and with that power comes heat. To combat motor heating issues the EXT is fitted with an aluminum motor heatsink and fan. Adding strength in the steering department is an aluminum servo horn to transmit the 25kg-cm of torque from the Hexfly servo to the wheels. A new, racier body shell adorns the EXT and features a functional roof scoop to channel air over the electronics for additional cooling. At the rear of the truck sits a new high downforce wing while below that sits the much needed dual-wheel wheelie bar.
