Traxxas’ line of Ultimate vehicles is growing with the addition of the XRT Ultimate, a fully-upgraded, high-performance basher that includes over $1,000 in upgrades, all pre-installed and ready to race.
Building off of the proven 8s XRT platform, the Ultimate adds 7075 aluminum caster and steering blocks, aluminum differential housings, Ti-Ni coated shock shafts inside threaded body GTR aluminum dampers, lightweight aluminum Tubes toe-links, machined aluminum steering bellcranks, aluminum motor mounts, machined hardened steel pinion and spur gears, aluminum transmission cover, aluminum rear hubs, ball-bearing supported aluminum wheelie bar wheels on aluminum axles, all topped off with a limited edition XRT Pro-Graphix body shell. Each aluminum option part is color-coded to the color of the shell, either green or blue.
Inside the body shell the XRT Ultimate packs a full compliment of telemetry paired with the TQi radio system, complete with factory installed wireless module. A high-torque metal gear 2085X servo sends 450 oz-in of torque through an aluminum double shear servo horn and out to the wheels via the aforementioned aluminum bellcrank set. The standard VXL-8s power system rockets the XRT to top speeds of up to 60mph (with optional gearing). A large heat sink and dual fans keep the motor cool, even under the hardest bashing conditions.
Rounding out the Ultimate package (pardon the pun) are new belted Gravix tires that prevent ballooning, even at high speeds. According to Traxxas the “Gravix race tires are a revolutionary new hybrid design with densely packed biting edges and sipes. The directional tread pattern runs quieter than traditional off-road tires with a low-profile sidewall for excellent handling characteristics.”
As is the case with many of their top-tier models, the XRT Ultimate is only available at hobby retailers and will be produced in a very limited run.
