Good day one and all! We are back again for another week of RC news, this time featuring new products from Team Associated, Axial, Pro-Line Racing and Injora, along with some a quick project update from here at the shop. Let’s dive in and see what’s new!
TEAM ASSOCIATED
New this week from Team Associated is the Factory Team RC10, an upgraded, modern-dau vintage class car that features key upgrades to handle the rigors of modern competition. New to the RC10 FT are 12mm hex wheels, 12mm hex compatible front steering blocks, front axles and rear CVA’s, carbon fiber front and rear shock towers that are compatible with big bore shocks, RC10B6 wing mount (the new rear tower is designed to work with this mount), Kashima coated 13mm dampers front and rear, a B7 servo mount, metric ball studs, heavy duty 3.5mm ball cups and turnbuckles, new Mirage Pro vintage body and B7 wing, carbon fiber transmission brace, a bronze anodized chassis. nose plate and motor plate, V2 slipper assembly and the Worlds Car bellcrank set.

Also new this week are new front and rear springs for Team Associated’s 13mm big bore shocks, specifically the #91939 Green fronts (shown on the left) and #91961 Black rear springs. These new options give racers another option to get their car (or truck) dialed in to any surface.

AXIAL ADVENTURE
While not technically a “new” platform or body from Axial, the CJ-7 returns with two new color options and all of the same details and features that made it so popular the first time around. When Axial made the decision to move manufacturing from Taiwan to China the CJ-7 had only been out a short while and was discontinued at that point. From the reports I’ve been given the molds and tooling stayed in Taiwan at the previous factory’s hands, necessitating all new molds and tooling to be made to produce the truck again. Axial has done an excellent job recreating the truck and for fans of the vintage Jeep this is going to be the biggest release of the year from Axial.
Returning to the package are the familiar SCX10iii chassis, LCX-U transmission with dig, straight versions of the AR45 axles, four-link rear and three-link front suspension, 100mm aluminum threaded body oil filled shocks, licensed Raceline Daytona beadlock wheels and Mickey Thompson Baja Boss tires in the R35 compound, opening doors, roll cage detail and even a fully detailed interior, each of which bring the CJ to life. This time around the two color options are red and an orange/copper color that looks absolutely stunning in natural sunlight.

INJORA
If you do your crawling indoors with the micro-sized Axial SCX30 Injora has you covered with a host of new upgrades for this popular platform. Be it wheels and tires, shocks, axles, steering and suspension components, electronics, bodies or chassis rails, Injora has you covered. I’ve included a link to the entire list of Injora’s new offerings as there are too many parts to list here. Click here for more information.

The Crowd Pleazer is back, this time as a retro-modern style body for the Losi Mico-B. This clear is a throwback to the super popular Crowd Pleazer bodies of the early 2000’s and includes a necessary ESC relocation bracket to allow the body to sit as low as possible, while also shifting weight rearward for added forward bite in loose or slick conditions. Window masks, paint-then-peel overpray film and detail decals are included in the package. Suspiciously missing from the web page is Pro-Line’s usual “Made In The USA” claim for their products made in their Banning California facility. This could mean that since this package includes the ESC relocation bracket, a molded piece, the entire package is made overseas, as most of PL’s molded pieces are manufactured there.

PROJECT UPDATE
This week I have a huge announcement concerning a few new projects coming to 1i-rc! We have not one, but two, new kits coming to the site in the coming weeks and they really take me back to my roots in RC. The first is a modern take on my first hobby-grade RC car while the second is the latest from a familiar manufacturer that pays homage to my first journalism job in the industry. I can’t wait to share these projects with you all and will be providing updates as progress is made. Stay tuned, you won’t want to miss this one!
Thank you all once again for joining us for our weekly update, your continued patronage means everything to us; without you we are merely whispering into the ether with no purpose at all. Until next time, be good to yourself, be good to others, be good to your RC.
