Welcome back everyone! This week was filled with some long needed bench time building a few new kits for the site and I have to say, my head feels clearer and I am feeling that anxious feeling about driving once again. Spring is here, hopefully to stay, and with it comes warmer days and less precipitation, making actually getting out to run a car feasible. Stay tuned over the next few weeks as we bring you some new kit and product reviews as well as actually trying to get out and run for the first time in 2026! Let’s dive in and see what is new this week in our little corner of the RC industry!
RPM R/C PRODUCTS
The creative geniuses at RPM have once again set their sights on an ultra-popular platform and improved it with the addition of one part. The Losi Micro-T and Micro-B are extremely popular, not only with kids but also with adults looking for something small to mess around with when the weather isn’t cooperating but drivers quickly found that one encounter with a table leg could end your day of fun. RPM has introduced a new set of front and rear heavy duty suspension arms for the Micro pair that are more durable thanks to their advanced blend of engineering grade nylons as well as their updated design. Both inner and outer hinge pin bosses are thicker than stock, helping to keep the pins in place even when there’s a sudden deceleration event. The front arms feature a triple support beam design that improves durability and when combined with the roughly 20% increase in support beam width the arm is able to withstand impacts that would send a stock arm crying for its parts box.

TEAM ASSOCIATED
If you guessed that Team Associated was going to announce a new “retro” RC10 this week.. you’d be wrong. Sort of. This week’s retro release is instead an RB10; a buggy based on the RC10B5 rear motor platform that was introduced years ago as an RTR basher but this time gets the retro-themed treatment. Changes to the RTR-spec include a blue aluminum B5-style tub chassis, new front and rear bulkhead pieces, special grey plastics throughout, a retro Viper cab-rearward body and wing, high grip off-road tires, 12mm hex wheels, blue aluminum 12mm big bore shocks, a B5 stealth transmission and rear CVA’s. This kit requires electronics, a battery and charger, paint and assembly but brings the look of a retro buggy into the 21st century with modern performance.

TRAXXAS
While not new, the 2wd Rustler is receiving a bit of a refresh for its base model XL-5 variant that includes an updated body with clipless body mounts, new Extreme Heavy Duty suspension components, a new tubular style front bumper, a change from the All Star 5-spoke wheels to black 6-spoke RXT hoops, an upgrade to the TQ 2.4gHz radio system and an included 7-cell, 3000mAh battery and USB-C charger to get you running right out of the box. Unlike previous releases of the Rustler this version is available in one of eight colors; just add the corresponding number of your choice to the end of the item number to get your favorite color. If you prefer to do your bashing with brushes instead of a brushless setup the XL-5 Rustler may be right up your alley!
