JConcepts have release the production iteration of their Regulator chassis conversion kit for the Tamiya Clodbuster that was first seen in prototype form at the 2019 International Monster Truck Hall of Fame event in Auburn, Indiana. The chassis kit builds off of an aluminum cradle that provides a strong foundation for the suspension and ladder bars. The battery and electronics are placed deep into the chassis, lowering the center of gravity and adding stability. Speaking of the battery, the kit includes a fiberglass battery hold down to keep the pack in place. The shock mounts and body mounts are made of machined, anodized aluminum and each piece is attached using 3mm hardware. Hybrid hexagonal and tube style chassis cross braces tie the chassis plates together and horizontal chassis braces bookend the chassis for a retro appearance. Body posts are machined from delrin and are fully adjustable allowing the use of many different shells. The Regulator chassis conversion kit does require the use of servo on axle, steering and JConcepts offers an optional #2823 servo mount kit for behind the axle steering.
