TWIRC: This Week In RC, December 29-January 3rd

Welcome to 2026 everyone! The new year has arrived and with it comes some new goodies in case Santa didn’t stuff your stocking with the exact part you were looking for to scratch that itch in the back of your mind that we all know can only be satisfied by clicking “Buy It Now”. Waking on New Year’s Eve we found a stack of emails in our inbox from the fine folks at JConcepts with their latest releases inside and we’re here to share them with you, so sit back, pour a cup of your favorite hot beverage and let’s dig in to these goodies together!

JCONCEPTS

JConcepts “Finnished” 2025 in a big way with this pint-sized body for the Losi Micro-T, dubbed the Finnisher. Taking styling cues from the many JC Finnisher bodies before it, this finely-sculpted piece of polycarbonate fits the Lilliputian-scale Losi to a “T” and blends the spoiler into the rear bed section more smoothly for a unique look as well as more support in this area due to the complex shape. An add-on spoiler is included in the mold and window masks as well as a decal sheet are included in the package as well.

BONEHEAD MOVE OF 2026… ALREADY!

I pulled the dumbest move I could have possible made last night while finishing up a project right before I called it an evening. While taping in a brand new, never seen power, just-had-the-connectors-soldered-on Hobbywing 10BL120 ESC into a chassis I used my straight Lexan scissors to trim the tail of of the tape. The tape that was stuck to the underside of the power switch. The power switch that also contains the calibration button. Snip. Warranty voided, speed control ruined. Learn from my mistakes folks, don’t operate scissors on little sleep and excessive caffeine; it’ll only lead to frustration and a significantly lighter wallet. Luckily I had another brand new ESC on hand (I like using this particular model in all of my 2-and-3s go-fast vehicles as it has proven to be very reliable and dependable. This time I took much greater care removing the back of the 3m tape with a hobby knife… lesson learned.

I want to that everyone for stopping by again this week and hope that the new year is off to a great start for you and your family. Until next time, be good to yourself, be good to others, be good to your RC.
