The releases are a plenty this week from manufacturers including JConcepts, Team Associated and Losi. As the weather continues to cool and time continues to march toward the holiday season, I can predict many more weeks with an abundance of releases, and that treat is no trick (I couldn’t resist a dad joke there!). Let’s dive in to see what’s new and already making my wallet scream for mercy!
JCONCEPTS
The team at JConcepts has been extremely busy over the past week with a slew of new releases including the new 3DP carpet tire, the Double Bar tires, the Double Dee’s V2 front tire, the “definitely-not-a-Firestone” Firestorm MT tire in a full cleat variety, a retro Ford F-150 body for the RC10T2, an Illuzion body for the RC10B3 and the winner for the “Best Named RC Product of 2025″ award, the Big Cheese 2.6” MT tire. Given the sheer number of releases, it makes you wonder: when do they sleep?
The 3DP is a carpet specific tire available for 1/10 2wd/4wd rear or 2wd front applications, is a low-profile densely packed tread design that strikes a balance between forward bite and lateral grip. These tires are available in pre-mounts or tire-only and are supported by soft, open-cell foam inserts. Shown below are the rear versions, but the official product page will have additional photos of each tire.

For those who do their racing in the dirt JC has the new Double Bar, an evolutionary step for 2.2″ buggy and dirt oval racers. These tires feature a doubled-up bar design (hence the name) that takes the lessons learned from the original Bar Codes tires and cranks the performance knob to 11. Available for both front and rear (front for 2wd only), these tires have a low height tread for ultra-fast response while the diamond shaped infield tread adds in forward bite and stability. Each tire is available in Aqua or Silver compound and are supported by molded, closed cell Dirt Tech inserts.

Similar to the Double Bars, these new Double Dee’s V2 are an evolutionary step for 2wd racers and is available in both front and rear versions. This tire’s tread is compact and rounded and features center bars and outer pins that dig in and provide an abundance of forward and lateral traction. Dirt Tech molded inserts support the tread and these tires are available in both blue (soft) and green (ultra-soft) compounds.

Taking a break from the buggy tires we find a pair of new MT tires for 2.6″ (Clod size) wheels: the Firestorm Full Cleat and the Big Cheese. The Firestorm Full Cleat mimics the look of an un-cut Ag tire that early monster trucker’s used before learning how much performance could be gained by trimming the tread of the tire. These full cleat versions scream early monster trucking and are available in the soft blue compound. Increasing this tires impressive forward bite are a set of React open-cell foam inserts.

For me, there is no better named product this year than the new Big Cheese tire from JC. This tires is a departure from the traditionally styled MT tires that JC offers and instead utilizes the lessons learned from the Bar Codes off-road tire for a racier option for MT racers. This tire features The overlapping waffle shaped tread is back cut for added traction and style and mimics some of the more exotic hand cut patterns that drivers such as Alan Pezo could have experimented with. Like the Firestorm’s above, the Big Cheese’s are molded in the soft blue compound and are supported by soft, open-cell React foam inserts.

If a vintage Associated rig is in your collection JConcepts has you covered with two new bodies; a 1995 Ford F-150 for the RC10T2 and an Illuzion shell for the RC10B3.
While no one would argue that stadium truck bodies don’t really scream “scale” but this JConcepts 1995 Ford F-150 does feature and accurate grille, headlight, cab and window design taken from the 1:1. This stunningly handsome shell includes window masks, detail decals, overspray film and is molded in a heavy duty polycarbonate.

While not a vintage shell per se, the Illuzion body for the RC10B3 does feature some decidedly old-school touches including the rearward cab design, the large side windows and laid back windshield as well as large, flat side boards that help to balance air pressure over the the entire chassis. This body is a modern interpretation of a classic style that works very well on the B3. Overspray film, window masks and detail decals are included as is one 5.5″ Illuzion wing.

TEAM ASSOCIATED
Would it be a week in the RC industry without another vintage release from Team Associated? This week we get a new Metallic version of the 6×6 American Custom Semitruck, based on the original RC10 platform. Differences from the first release of the 6×6 Semi include Factory Team ball ends, metallic gold shock bodies, metallic gold motor plate, and satin chrome wheels. This is a true 6×6 with a unique gearbox (in white!) and the ubiquitous gold pan chassis is there in all of its aluminum glory,

LOSI
Losi is definitely “Doing It For Dale” this week with two fantasy models of their Next Gen NASCAR race cars, based on the Arrma GROM platform. Both the Dale Sr. #3 GM Goodwrench RCR Chevrolet and the #8 Dale Jr. Budweiser DEI Chevrolet are licensed for each detail and arrive ready-to-run with battery and charger included. Obviously neither Dale Sr. or Dale Jr. drove the Gen7 Cup car but this is a fun “what if” nonetheless. The Spektrum SLT2 radio system controls the car and a brushed power system provides the scoot.

Being a die-hard NASCAR fan I appreciate these models but I do find some issues with the presentation. For the Gen7 “Next Gen” Cup cars the side numbers were moved to the front of the door to make room for more sponsor space on the quarter panel. Both of these cars have their side numbers in the traditional location centered on the door, which would have been correct for the Gen6 and prior (Dale Jr. raced the Gen6 but Sr. lost his life during the latter part of the Gen5 era, pre-COT, or Car of Tomorow), For the #8 DEI car the strakes are supposed to be a stylized “3” on the driver’s side and an “E” on the passenger side, however the Losi interpretation only has 2 strakes, not three. The 3 features the correct placement of contingency sponsors for a Gen6 and older car, which matches the livery and number placement but the 8 is missing its contingency sponsors all together, leaving that area of the car looking somewhat naked. Lastly, I am not sure how I feel about an RC car, aimed at new hobbyists (read: kids) being emblazened with beer sponsorships. Lionel toys, the maker of the current generation of NASCAR Authentic die-cast models, changes the beer, cannibus and gambling sponsors on their cars as they know that kids will be playing with them as much as adults will be collecting them. NASCAR 25 does not have alcohol sponsorships in their iRacing based video game. This is how NASCAR has done their licensing for many decades but I’m not sure how I feel about this “toy” being so accurate to the 1:1. This is just my opinion but I don’t see a Kyle Busch “3Chi” sponsored car being added to Losi’s lineup any time soon.
